Terms of Service

Last updated July 27, 2026

Commit0 is made by Tideshift Labs. These terms are the deal between you and us for using the service, this website, and our apps. Using Commit0 means you agree to them. We kept them short enough to actually read.

The short version

  • Your files are yours. We host them so your team can work together.
  • Don't break the law or hurt people with it.
  • Leave whenever you like and take everything with you. Lore is an open format.
  • We stand behind Commit0, and our liability has sensible limits.
  • If a change to these terms matters, you hear about it first.

Your account

Keep your sign in credentials to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else got in. What happens under your account is on you. Commit0 is a professional tool, so you need to be at least 16.

If you join an organization, its owners and admins control who can reach its repositories, including the ones you contributed to.

Your content

Everything you push stays yours. We own none of it.

To make the product work, you let us store your content, back it up, and show it to the people you have chosen. That is the whole permission. It exists to run the service, it ends when you delete your content, and it never means selling your work, showing it to anyone you did not authorize, or training AI models on it.

Push only what you have the right to push, including assets that come with someone else's license.

Play fair

Don't use Commit0 to:

Cross these lines and we can remove the content or suspend the account. Where we can, we talk to you first.

Plans and billing

Every plan includes storage, and referrals can earn you more. If you go over, we ask you to trim down or upgrade. We never delete your work over a limit without telling you first.

Paid plans renew until you cancel, and a payment processor handles the money. If a price change affects you, you hear about it before it hits. If a payment fails, you get time to fix it before anything changes about your service.

Our software

The desktop app, our command line tools, and the Unreal Engine plugin come with every tier, free. Use them with the service as much as you like. The Unreal plugin is ours, though: please don't resell it, redistribute it, or take it apart.

Commit0 runs on Lore, Epic Games' open source engine, MIT licensed. Your repositories live in Lore's open format and the standard lore CLI works with them. No lock-in, ever.

Keeping it running

We run Commit0 as a production service, with monitoring, backups, and durable storage baked in. If planned maintenance might interrupt you, we say so ahead of time. We don't yet offer a contractual uptime guarantee; if your team needs one, talk to us.

Leaving

Close your account whenever you like. Your work is in Lore's open format, so you can grab a complete copy with the standard lore CLI before you go. After that, we delete your data as the Privacy Policy describes.

If an account breaks these rules we can suspend or close it, and where it is reasonable we warn first. Free accounts idle for a very long time may be closed too, always with plenty of email warning so you can save your work.

If something goes wrong

Lawyers make everyone say their service is provided "as is", so: we work hard to keep Commit0 fast, correct, and up, but we can't promise zero hiccups, and these terms don't add warranties beyond what the law itself imposes.

If we are legally on the hook, our liability is capped at what you paid us in the past twelve months, or 100 US dollars if that is more. Indirect losses like lost profits are not on us. Where the law says a liability can't be limited, it isn't.

If your content, or your breach of these terms, gets us sued, the bill for that one is yours.

The fine print

These terms follow the laws of British Columbia, Canada, and disputes go to the courts there. If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.

When we update these terms we change the date at the top. If an update genuinely affects you, we say so in the app or by email before it lands. Keep using Commit0 after that and you have accepted it.
